How About Now?

home-buying-question-marks

Are you asking yourself the question “Is it the right time for me to buy a house?” Deciding if it’s the right time to buy

or continue renting is the first step toward loving where you live. If you’re considering buying a house – take a step back and ask yourself why. If your answer/answers sound like:

“Because I should…”

“Because I’ve reached a certain age…”

“I’m qualified for a mortgage!..”

“I’ll have to move someplace after… (insert event)

You may want to wait on purchasing a house. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. It’s a big commitment and if you don’t feel ready, you’re probably not. There’s really no harm in waiting until you have really good reasons to buy.

Good reasons to buy a house

If your answers were more along the lines of:

“I feel ready.”

“My job is stable, my finances are in order and I want put down roots.”

“I can afford the cost of homeownership and want the ability to do what I want, when I want to in my own home.”

“I’m planning on staying in the area for at least 5 years. I’d rather build equity than pay rent.”

Then you’re probably ready to start looking at houses. Ultimately, “Is now the right time for me to buy a house?” is a question only you can answer.
